Being poor shouldn’t affect your education, but in Nepal, it does.
Everything in the world doesn’t have to be equal to be good. But when your family can’t afford even basic things, choices for your child’s education are made for you in Nepal.
Learning Seed exists to give the exceptionally poor and social marginalized children the chance to not only succeed in their education, but thrive, despite their poverty.

“Given a choice, no parent would willingly send their child to a government run school if they could afford private education.”
The wide disparity between government education and private education is so well understood, that even existing government school teachers will not send their own children to government schools.
As an example, in 2017, in Jajarkot district, the local municipality (Kushe Rural) refused to pay the government school teachers salaries, of those who were sending their children to private schools.
The link between lack of education and poverty is well known and widely established. Learning Seed exists in great part not to change the systems or move kids from the government schools to private education, but to succeed, and excel beyond the current financial state of their families ability.
Our Learning Seed tutoring centers bring balance to the financial disparity of these little ones. We are able to significantly increase their educational success which leads to the child’s confidence and future success.
“We rely on Learning Seed. I can’t help my child with their homework because I’m illiterate, even in Nepali. At school they learn everything in English, so the tutoring center means everything to us. ”
